Who we are

This website is operated by J Design Limited, trading as Planning Permission Jersey, an architectural and planning services firm working exclusively in Jersey, Channel Islands. The business is owned by Mike Smith.

J Design Limited, trading as Planning Permission Jersey is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. What data we collect

When you complete our consultation request form we collect your name, phone number, email address, the project type you select, and anything you tell us about your project. If you telephone or write to us we keep a record of that contact and of the advice we give.

Our web host records standard server log data (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking services.

Why we use it, and on what basis

We use your contact details to respond to your enquiry, arrange your free consultation and, if you instruct us, to deliver the work. Our lawful bases under the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018 are your consent in submitting the enquiry, the performance of a contract once you instruct us, and our legitimate interest in running the business and keeping proper records.

Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. We share it only where it is necessary to do your job or where we are required to: with the Government of Jersey planning and building control departments when we submit an application on your behalf; with consultants engaged on your project; with our IT and form-processing providers, who host the data on our behalf; and with our insurers or professional advisers where a claim or legal obligation arises.

Retention

Enquiry data from people who do not go on to instruct us is retained for up to 12 months after last contact. Client project data is retained for 7 years after the file closes, as required for professional indemnity insurance purposes.

Your rights

Under the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018 you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to withdraw consent at any time. We will respond within one month.
